Defective goods? You are entitled to a remedy for at least two years.
All goods you buy in the EU must match their description and be fit for their usual purpose. If they are not, the seller must put them right free of charge – regardless of any manufacturer’s guarantee and without you paying anything extra.
- Two years Minimum period from receipt of the goods. A longer period applies in some Member States.
- Free of charge Repair or replacement at no cost to you, including shipping and labour.
- With the seller We are your point of contact, not the manufacturer.
The official notice
Wording and design are prescribed uniformly across the EU. Available in all 24 official languages of the Union.
How to assert your rights
-
Step 1
Report the defect
Write to us about what is wrong. An order number and a photo help, but they are not required.
-
Step 2
Choose repair or replacement
In principle, you decide whether the goods are repaired or replaced. Both are free of charge for you.
-
Step 3
Reduce the price or withdraw
If neither is possible or it fails, you can reduce the price or withdraw from the contract.
Legal guarantee and manufacturer’s guarantee
Two different things that apply side by side. One does not replace the other.
Legal guarantee
- Always applies, to all goods, automatically
- Binds the seller
- At least two years, free of charge
- Cannot be restricted by contract
Manufacturer’s durability guarantee
- Voluntary, only for labelled products
- Binds the manufacturer
- Longer than two years, at no additional cost, for the entire product
- Comes in addition to the legal guarantee
